Sorry if this is too off-topic...but it looks like my wife and I are going to be in Acadiana from Valentine's Day until a day or two after Mardis Gras.
From what I can gather, there is a baffling array of courir, parades, dances, etc. Would any of you care to recommend some that you love? Eunice? Mamou? Church Point? Basile? Lafayette?
Oh lord, I can't wait.
Thanks for any advice. And regardless of where we're from, we're well mannered enough....
Be sure and stop by the BlueMoon Saloon and Guest house for a show. This is one of the best venues for old school style Cajun Music. If you are lucky enough to catch the PineLeaf Boys or Lost Bayou Ramblers there, you are lucky indeed and are in for one of my favorite ways to spend a night out. And, Eunice for the Courir, Or ask Mr. Savoy where his son Joel's run will be. Once again, an old school style run. Small and intimate. Thats my two best "local" guy tips.
