Re: recommendations for Mardis Gras festivities?

Get ready for a flood of info, and here's mine...

Stay in Eunice. Lots going on, great location in the center of everything. Potier's, if you can get in. And eat breakfast at Ruby's.

Saturday night at D.I.'s. Great food, great Mardi Gras. Get there REAL early to get a table.

Cajun Hall of Fame in Eunice. Too cool.

Historic Liberty Theater in Eunice live radio broadcast Rendezvous Des Cajuns Friday night. Again, get there early

Yankee Chank swamp tour/jam session/dance on the swamp boats out of McGee's Landing.

Tuesday in Iota for their festival. The real deal. Can't wait for some fresh boudin and cracklin's.

And the usual suspects...Fred's, Nick's on 2nd Thursday jam, Savoy's jam Saturday morning...

And send me an email for one I can't post here.

See you there!

Re: recommendations for Mardis Gras festivities?

Be sure and stop by the BlueMoon Saloon and Guest house for a show. This is one of the best venues for old school style Cajun Music. If you are lucky enough to catch the PineLeaf Boys or Lost Bayou Ramblers there, you are lucky indeed and are in for one of my favorite ways to spend a night out. And, Eunice for the Courir, Or ask Mr. Savoy where his son Joel's run will be. Once again, an old school style run. Small and intimate. Thats my two best "local" guy tips.
