Re: Re: Re: Lyrics for Tante Aline (Viens me chercher)
Hi Maz
You should really get Anne Savoy's book 'Cajun Music-Reflections of a People". or also Raymond Lafleur's Book, because you'll find so many lyrics in them. There are 2 versions of Iry Lajeune lyrics to "Viens me Chercher", I believe. I could send them to you when I get back to Montreal. I love Dewey Balfa's version of Viens M'Chercher, by the way. It's the one I know by heart. If you are interested I could write it down.
Bonne Annee mon cher.

That's right -the Valse d'Orphelin by Dewey Balfa
It's the same tune but different words - the emotion is beautiful
The strange thing is the words almost sound overly sentimental
but the voice carries it off and makes it all believable.
Sorry about the misnomer on the Raymond E. François book.
