The Balfa Camp instructors' line-up is out!

For the ones who are not on the email list, here's the content of the email I received from Balfa Camp organizers (very tempting!)Who's planning on going?:

Bonjour, tout le monde!
Hello, everyone!

The 2007 Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week at Chicot State Park
is now less than three months away - April 20-26 - and we've got some
great updates to share with you on this sure-to-be-incredible camp!

On the instructor front, here's the latest news:

The folks we have confirmed as full-time instructors so far are Ray
Abshire, Al Berard, Jeffery Broussard, Jonno Frishberg, Christine Balfa
Powell, Dirk Powell and Ann Savoy.

We couldn't be more pleased and excited to have these talented artists
on board as instructors for the 2007 DBCCHW. We're now in the process of
finalizing the rest of the instructor line-up and exactly who will be
teaching which intensive classes, and we can tell you that all these
great teachers will be available to offer some instruction on all of the
instruments they play. So please stay tuned for more details very soon.

Here's some more great news: We've received word from the Louisiana
Office of State Parks that all 15 of the super-nice brand-new waterfront
cabins at Chicot State Park will be ready in time for this year's
DBCCHW! The new cabins are located beyond the big parking lot where we
set up the DBCCHW dance tent. (If you were with us at last year's
DBCCHW, you may have noticed all the construction activity in that
area.)

The new cabins are large and bright with lots of windows, full kitchens,
lovely porches, great views, living rooms with cathedral ceilings and
fireplaces - a great home away from home!

Early registrants have nearly filled these cabins, but we still have
plenty of additional cabin, dormitory and camping space available. If
you or your friends are considering registering for this year's camp and
you'd like us to reserve space for y'all, please get in touch with us as
soon as possible.

We'll be back in touch with you in the near future to keep you up to
date on all our latest plans for camp. Please give us a call at (337)
234-8360 or email info@lafolkroots.org if you'd like to register for
camp or you have any questions at all. You can find registration forms
and more information online at our website at www.lafolkroots.org.

Last but not least, if you're interested in joining us for our 4:30 P.M.
Sunday, Feb. 4, workshop with Mark O'Connor's Appalachia Waltz Trio,
please give us a call today or tomorrow. Space is filling rapidly!

Bien merci! We look forward to seeing you soon!
