Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

Hi Dwight,

The first version I heard was by Savoy-Doucet. It is still my favorite.

Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

David;
What album of Savoy-Doucet has Jongle A Moi?

Re: Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

I have it on an out of print LP called "Home Music". It is on the Arhoolie label. I see that they have a cassette of it for sale on the Arhoolie website, but no LP or CD.

Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

Ten version that I know of on CD

Bois Sec (two versions)
Dexter Ardoin
Morris Ardoin
Morris and Dexter Ardoin
Mamou Prairie Band
Goldman Thibadeaux and Calvin Carriere
Mouton Noir
Mitch Reed and Al Berard
Steve Riley

Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

I just checked out the Goldman version, but he doesn't do the B part, making it similar to the Lemonade Song. Calvin did play the B part once I think.

Re: Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

Try Dexter's "B"

Re: Re: Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

Don't have that one. Mark pointed me to a couple of other's I"m trying. What album is that Dexter tune on?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Recordings of Jongle A Moi

Dexter Ardoin and the Creole Ramblers
"What you come to do"
I think if you google Dexter you will find an MP3 site to down load the album at a very modest fee.
