new dvd available

Just found out about this site recently from Wilson and have enjoyed reading the entries. Pretty interesting stuff. Anyway, my new beg. dvd is now up and available on our site, www.mamouplayboys.com. Just in case some of you are interested! Much love to all you accordion fans and players!

Re: new dvd available

Who's Steve Riley and why would I want his DVD?

Just kidding... Btw, I think I've got the turn to "Allons Danser Colinda" down now, so I won't pester you to teach it to me anymore.

Re: Re: new dvd available

He's just a guy you were in high school together at Comeaux. Y'all were never friends or anything so you might not know him. But he can sure play the chank-a-chank button like nobody's bidness.

My suggestion is purchase the DVD... because yer surrounded by not only Riley fans on this board, but [whisper] "the man himself is watching."

Now... if only Steve Riley would ring my doorbell cuz' I'm so frutstrated at tryin'
to learn Waxia Special...

"uhhha! Who could that be?!"

You can't be serious.

Jon,

You're joking, right? I find it hard to believe that anyone reading a Cajun accordion forum would not have even heard about the guy who leads what is arguably the best Cajun band of all time. He is one of the best accordion players of all time as well.

I have not seen his instructional DVD, but I have no doubt that it is very well done, as is every project that Steve has been involved with.

Re: new dvd available

Wow, for those of you who are giving me a hard time for not knowing who Steve Riley is, I'd suggest you read the end of my post the part where I say "just kidding". Steve's someone who I regularly take lessons from and I was just messing around with him, sorry if some of you didn't catch that.

Also, the guy I went to high school with was Rusty Sanner not Steve. And btw Rick, the part about Steve ringing your doorbell while trying to learn the Waxia Special was very funny. "Gawd, I wish I could play the accordion like Steve Riley!" If only there was a film or a movie, "man that'd be great"!

Re: Re: new dvd available

Drew played that part TOO well!

Cheers! ~R!CK

Bienvenue Steve!

Hey Steve,
Now you've found the spot where the virtual die hard accordion and cajun music enthousiasts hide!
Welcome to this site my friend, and you're always welcome to throw in your two cents' worth. BTW, I've truly enjoyed your DVD (intermediate) I got at Balfa '06. À la prochaine mon cher!

Re: Re: new dvd available

Jon, although I can't play like the guy, you could have let me gloat in the glory of someone believing that I was Steve !!

Re: Re: new dvd available

Hi Jon,

I wasn't intending to give you a hard time, it's just that if I were to take your statement a face value, it's hard to believe. I was thinking to myself that this has to be a joke, and I said something to that effect.

When I read your post, the whole thing did not show up on the screen, and it never occurred to me to scroll past 20 or 30 blank lines so see if there was anything else at the bottom.

Sorry!
