Any tips for redecorating old accordions? My method would be to 1) remove the innards (I've taken them apart before, so this is no big deal) and the straps 2) sand it lightly? 3) paint it with some kind of enamel maybe? 4) dry, seal, reassemble
I'd like to give it a try one some of mine I'm ashamed to take to sessions, and just to make them more personal to my tastes. Any words of advice?
How about an accordion that was originally another color and was painted pink?
I was in Juniors shop a year or so ago and he had a used pink accordion on the shelf for sale. I asked him the story behind it and he said that it had belonged to Sheryl Cormier and that it was originally a brown stain but she got tired of it and painted it hot pink. He didn't know the maker of the accordion or why on earth she decided to go for the color change.
