Superb triple row.. immaculate tuning, nice action, great sound, custom accordion in every way... amongst the very best I've played. Expensive, but worth it.
Glenn,
how is the weight on the Beltrami?
compared to other brands?
The lightest 3 and 4 reed 3 rows I have seen so far seem to be the Baldoni. This may not be important to all, but it makes a big difference how long I can play.
They are same size and weight as the Gabbanelli... but he does a no register version which may be lighter. Lightest box is a Baffetti Tex Mex.. but they are two reed or three reed with no registers..
'Preciate the info -- just gearing up for a new 3-row and while it seems as though Dino is the "new" Gab, I've heard better things about the Beltrami, but don't know of a current zydeco artist that is playing one. Karlito's way is the only place I know to read info on 'em. Thanks bruthaz.
Baffetti makes a great quality to price accordion and Karlitos is the most conscientious accordion dealer I know of.. backs his product 100%..he sells both brands. Beltrami's are his Caddies.. few are made.. but the tuning is usually done custom for the buyer..and the insides are best quality anywhere ( he tunes for Richard Galliano when in town.. he rebuilds Bandoneons and Bayans..and has his own line of Irish boxes which are becoming very popular.. his boxes are for the Pro player.. worth the extra money in my opinion ).
I know both Baffetti and Beltrami personally and can guarantee they back their product all the way. The both of them are on very good terms too.. Beltrami is a Baffetti dealer in Italy.. Baffetti has Beltrami do all his custom tuning .. ( as does Castagnari and others )..
Glenn, ya rock! Thanks for the details. Karlos IS a great guy to deal with too -- from what I've heard. Luckily he's right here in the DFW area. Now just to convince the wife that I need a Caddie rather than a Toyota (Gab). 'Course anything would be a step up from my Castiglione. It's been useful to learn on but it's not real robust in quality or sound. Need those bassoon reeds and switches to make it right.
Yeah? That buy-out could be an option. Still gonna be later this year -- so I'll definitely check back wit'cha. Sean Ardoin is total legend in my book!
Hi Rick,
I bought a 5 switch Gabbanelli "Tex Mex" 3 reed from Larry Miller and I like it alot. I don't like the name "tex mex" on the face plate, but great otherwise. Light and good sound. The way I hear it...Elio Gabbanelli makes it but can't put the name "Gabbanelli" on it because of legal issues. So hence, Tex Mex...
It's all black with lots of jewels. Installed an internal mike, of course.

I was wondering about those... Corey Young of the Zydeco Teenagers plays one. Yeah, dunno if I could play something that constantly reminded me tacos and enchiladas. I'd be hungry evertime I picked it up. But it sure sounds good!
