Hi Braves,
where can I get an Irish two row tuned? My wife plays pennywhistle and wants me to play the two row. I bought a Dino Baffetti on Ebay....but it is sour on tuning.
thanks for any leads...btw, the buttonbox in Mass. has a 6 month wait. Need another tuner.

Try googling John Nolan just outside of New York City. He is pretty well known for tuning Irish boxes. He did a wonderful job with my Cairdin Mini-Deluxe. Reasonable, trustworthy, and very talented. Oh, he is a great accordion player also.
Re: Re: Re: where to get an Irish two row tuned?....
There's a shop in southeastern New York that sells some accordions tuned by John Nolan. I tried a couple out and they sounded good to my ear, although my listening habits are 85% Cajun/Creole to 15% Irish.
The Button Box is indeed backed up quite a ways: 6 months is about right. I made an appointment in April to dry up and get some squeaks out of my Saltarelle, but it'll be August or September before it gets into the shop.
You might try Paul Groff (web site link above) in Cambridge, Mass. People have said nice things about his work. I heard him play once and he certainly gets some excellent sounds out of his boxes.
