HohnerReed set-up for Glen

Glen

So sorry to make you repeat yourself here but I remember recently that you said that Hohner III reed diatonic were MMM. Does that include the Corso and the IIIR. I saw some Brazilian or Argentinean plating a three reed right under his chin and thought that it was awkward looking and a little thin sounding. I blamed it on youtube. It is amazing what we put ourselves through to play music. Somehow the Cajun players scowl, look the most pained. and look to the right. Steve Riley lets the air out and lets it dangle around down in front of him when he is talking to the crowd. My old girlfriend Jane liked that move. Before I played accordion I didn't think a thing about it and thought it was nothing usual The Russian women playing gigantic chromatic accordions seem to be having a better time. Am just starting to understand and listen to the different reed combinations. What wonderful instruments. Best wishes, Jerry

Re: HohnerReed set-up for Glen

Perhaps someone on the forum can correct me if wrong.. but I understand Corona III and Corso to be both MMM. Thin sounding but piercing and those that actually use it in Contra dancing or Vallenato .. WANT that very sound.. .. Vallenato especially. Definitely not for Zydeco .. : )
