Re: Le Blues de Balfa (youtube)

certain musicians can move me to tears with their soulful vocals. there is such emotion and sadness in dewey's voice and fiddle. long live the memory of dewey balfa!!!

Re: Le Blues de Balfa (youtube)

And please, if you can, watch the entire film "Les Blues de Balfa" online at folkstreams. 26 minutes of joy.

Re: Re: Le Blues de Balfa (youtube)

On that same site (folkstreams), you can also watch Cajun Visits. In it, you'll get to hear Canray's version of that tune.

Re: Re: Re: Le Blues de Balfa (youtube)

Is Folkstream the same company that produced J'ai été au bal?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Le Blues de Balfa (youtube)

J'ai été au bal was done by les Blank (lesblank.com) for his company Flower Films. Folkstreams seems to gather stuff from indepenent film makers, including Les Blank (Dry Wood, for instance), not make films themselves. Les Blues de Balfa was done by Yasha Aginsky.
