Who's heading for Saulieu? Me, Glenn, Gus? Who else?
We leave for France this Monday evening, heading down south and catching Saulieu on the way back, so I shall be incommunicado ( or is that a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta?) for a while.
I'll be there too, as you already said. JB, Keep (your accordions) cool down south!
I will first attend a very fine p'tit French festival where the more or less traditional French music will be played, like hurdy gurdy, grand bourbonais (= lower keyed bagpipe) fiddle and -less traditional since not so old, the diatonic accordion (two row). Some tunes remind to cajun. Maybe the 'cajun hot shoes' came from an old 'schottish'(particular dance) tune. I'll play it for ye in Saulieu, right?
O, Mark, if you read this too: what a beautiful accordion. Especially the changes in color. I really like it. Did mr. Ortego play as well? (or is that a stupid question).
it's next Saturday and Sunday. It's near Moulin (100 km from Saulieu?).
I can email you where exactly, (we want to keep it "nice and small", that's the reason).
I'm also hoping to go to Arleuf the next day. Anyone else? I'm only not sure because David doesn't really want to stay out of Paris the extra day and was originally planning on leaving Sunday night. Now he's not sure, and, being that he's my ride, I'm not sure. But I hope to be there!
I guess I'm a bit late responding to this post, but I'm going to Saulieu. I thought I wouldn't be able to work it out, but now plans have changed. I'll only arrive Sunday morning, though, and I won't be playing. I'm just going to hang out and meet people. If you see me, come up and say "hi"!
Been a while since I 'popped in' here. I'm making my first Saulieu trip - arrive Friday and leave Monday.
Looking forward to some good music and some jamming too!
