I bought my first accordion from Charlie, a second hand Sidney Brown. I Learned how to play it, then I ordered one of his . I bought three from him over the years, and made a good friend in the process.
Charlie was a soft spoken gentle man. I don't think I ever saw him mad. That's a wounderful picture to remember him by. Thank you for posting it Mark.

I Think one look at that picture answers the question posed by J. HELIN as to WHY LOUISIANA BOXES ARE BETTER. LA boxes are better because of the people who build them and tune them. they are master accordion builders from louisiana and there will never be builders like them again. Louisiana cajun accordions, IT'S ALL GOOD!
Yes, thank you for the picture! I never met Charlie in person, but I love my Bb box that he made for me. He also did some nice upgrades on my HA-114, such as a real bass box, and nicer straps and hardware.
