Re: What is the name of this tune in background?

it starts out like 'zydeco sont pas sale'
after that it seems to diverge, so they may
call it something else
it;s played on piano accordion
key of c
could be nathan and the zydeco cha chas
it;s not clifton
or buckwheat
or rocking dopsie jr
could be c j chenier
quite tasteful actually
usually when it;s just accordion and
rubboard, the tempo gets too fast
this has a nice relaxed feel

wle.

Re: What is the name of this tune in background?

That specific recording is from the disc "Lifescapes-Cajun Bayou." It was sold in Target stores about seven years ago. It is on the Compass label and features Dan Newton on piano accordion. They called the tune 'Old Time Zydeco.'

It is the same tune that Paul Simon used for the tune "That Was Your Mother" from his Graceland disc.

The tune is probably much older and has at least one other recognizable name, but I can't think of it off the top right now.

AR
