Re: Is Cajun Still Cool?

Come to the San Francisco Bay Area. There is a cooling breeze created by your money as it leaves your pocket to pay for housing.

I hope that Cajun is never cool!

For me, one of the most endearing thing about
Cajun is its sincerity, universal appeal,
and not being born out of some crass commercialism.

I do believe that I once read what Frank Zappa had
said about "cool". Something like:

"Cool is an indication of ignorance."
- and -
"Americans have a keen sense of cool."

Point being, once something is cool, it becomes
subject to all kinds of commercialism, the fad quickly fades
and it becomes yesterday's news, tossed in the garbage
dump along with all the other cheap chrome plastic junk that
Nathan Abshire philosophized as being an indication that
"something is wrong with America". (puff, puff)

So, I say, keep Cajun un-cool and it has a good chance
of growth and survival!

And now, back to our regularily scheduled program

Re: Is Cajun Still Cool?

Well said. By the way, I'm in the middle of writing a very upbeat cajun song about a barroom fight between a pet rock and a chia pet.
