Hey Neal, do you know of any place that I can get a copy of the Duson Waltz on CD. The one that I have from your site only plays on one side of my stereo which is definitely better than none! This song is almost haunting the way he plays it, and I'd love to have a copy of it in full stereo.
I don't know of a CD that has it. I will try to re-record it and see if I can get it in stereo. Does anybody here use Goldwave for editing? I can maybe maximize the sound with Goldwave. I also have Audacity but have never been able to figure out how to use it. If anybody here wants to e-mail me with some Audacity help I would appreciate it.
It's possible to put the signal in both canals.
Then you can hear the song left and right.
Make it stereo is very difficult.
A very simalar song is Valse the Bayou Chene.
Unfortunately, these are the versions of the Duson waltz I know of:
1. Duson waltz. Aldus Rogus and his French Accordion. Diga ding ding dong. Goldband Records. G-1084. n.d.. 45.
2. Duson waltz. Pat Savant & [and] the Louisiana Playboys with Joe Turner. Duson waltz. Kajun Records. 1028. . 45.
3. Duson waltz. Fred Charlie and The Acadiana Cajuns. Je Reve Heir Au Soir. Acadiana 0143. CD.
4. I think Jamie Bergeron also recorded it, but I've never heard his version.
Valse the Bayou Chène (Iry LeJeune or Eddy leJeune)
La Valse qui m' fait du mal (Lawrence Walker)
I have that from the book of Raymond Francois and checked at the cd's.
Neal, I got an email from Ron who had run it through some software he had and it's now playing through both speakers. I'll try out the download again to see if what you did worked for me though ! thanks !
