Re: Valse de la Vie?

Nick,

Tracy Schwarz also recorded Valse de la Vie on his "Mes Amis" CD (Swallow 6131 - 1996). In his liner notes, he says that Pierre Daigle was the author.

I would guess that Paul Daigle was the first to record it on one of his LPs. I'm sure that it was on one of his LPs, but I haven't checked the date of the LP yet. It is also on his "Best of..." CD, which was released on CD in 1996.

I just checked the LP. It is the opening tune on Paul's and Robert Elkins' Swallow LP 6060 released in 1986. Pierre Daigle produced the LP. On the tune, Paul plays accordion; Robert Elkins does the vocals and plays guitar; Tone Thibodeaux plays fiddle; Kelly Hebert plays bass; and Vernon Bergeron plays drums.

Sorry that we did not get to talk more at Augusta.

Re: Valse de la Vie?

Jack is correct. Pierre "Varmin" Daigle wrote 95% of all the songs recorded by Paul Daigle and Cajun Gold. Varmin is a retired school teacher and has also written several books. He is my grandmother's first cousin.

Re: Re: Valse de la Vie?

Can someone please post the lyrics and translation to this song. I like the song but I'm missing a bit of the words. thanks in advance.

Oh, j'me rappelle de ta chère belle voix si jeune
Ca m'fait du mal que le soleil est proche couché

J’aimerais danser encore un autre soir
On va danser la première fois que j't’ai vue
J’aimerais t’entendre me dire encore
Des choses tu m’as déjà dit

The waltz of life

My life is on the afternoon
My life is close finished
Oh I think in all the dear good memories
That hurts me that the sun is close slept.

Oh, I think for the first time
And I held you in my arms dear little girl
Oh, I remember your dear beautiful voice so young
That hurts me that the sun is close slept

I would like to dance another evening
We’re going to dance the first time when I saw you
I would still like hearing you
Things you have already said to me
Oh, yai yai, the memories hurt me

I would like seeing your small eyes so “canaille”
I would like being young with you still
I would like holding you in my arms
I would like seeing you dear still
Oh, yai yai, the memories hurt me

If somebody wants to correct my bad english ..........

Marc
