Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean go to Bayou Noir

Here's Peewee and the Lee man gang again. I wonder why this song is so rarely recorded. I only have 2 versions of it in my collection. I sure like the way Pee Wee plays it.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

Jolie Blonde this time, and Peewee doubles as the stage bug catcher. I really like Raymond François' fiddling.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

Any one know what kind of accordion Peewee is using, I can't see the name in any of the clips.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

Sterling or Monarch is my guess. The old army belt base strap is the clue. Could also be a Sydney Brown but the corner reinforcements look to well made to to me.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

Ypu get a quick glimpse of it in Jolie Blonde at around 2:08 or 2:12. I tried to pause and make it out, but it doesn't look familiar. Pretty sure it isn't Sidney, Regal or Sterling.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

It's a Monarch. Makes sense with the gold bellow tape and the design of the stops. Watch it in full screen and HD. You can clearly see the name if you look at the right frame.

Re: Pee Wee Broussard and Lee Man Prejean and Jolie Blonde

I tried to learn a little more about Raymond François as he is always quoted for his book, but never as a performer (as far as I know, of course). It's not easy. All I could find is this:

"About the Author Raymond Francois is a retired Cajun musician, one of the original founding members of the Cajun French Music Association and an elector on the Hall of Fame Committee. Raymond spent six years compiling this 506-page book, working day and night. The stress of the work eventually affected his health." (from the website below).
