I heartily agree with Nout about how to learn the bare bones of the tune and add layers to it (octaves, chords, grace notes, etc.) one at a time, which would provide a method that could be used for any tune we wanted to learn. Also, what about a list of common jam tunes, maybe broken up by levels- beginning, intermediate, and advanced? I am sure there are opinions about tunes that would fit on this list but I have not seen one and would find that helpful.
I would buy such a dvd, fwiw.
