Re: alternatives to handmade accordions

Hi Jamey,

I live in SW Virginia and play Celtic, French Canadian, Old Time (somewhat reluctantly), basically contra music. There is a group in Richmond that I meet at several local festivals and in that context I basically back up and fill on country and signer/songwriter stuff. I don't play out as much as I'd like. Have been caring for an ailing parent and studying for a bachelor's. I graduated in may in Environmental Studies and now as soon as I can wrap up some loose ends I'd love to really dive into music.

Personally, besides Cajun, I'd really like to get into some jazz, ragtime, and gypsy music.

I think you live in the Seattle area?? I have a good friend from Piano Tuning School (who no longer tunes either) who lives in Portland and an Uncle in Issaqua. I really want to get out there one day soon, especially to visit my uncle who's in his 80s.
