Re: alternatives to handmade accordions

I passed through Arkansas in 1978 on my way to Texas and camped at De Gray State Park. Came back through during tornado season with no car radio, wondering why the sky up ahead looked like nightime at noon. That was a spooky day.

Been playing PA since summer of 2000. I'm working on learning chord spellings. Would like to be able to combine basses and chord buttons from different rows to create complex chords.

Many of the useful things I've learned on PA have come from a friend and piano teacher and have to do largely with body mechanics, keyboard technique, and musicality. There just isn't anyone handy in my area to teach accordion. The head of the Fine Arts Department at Radford University, where I met my piano teacher friend is a former Michigan State champ on PA, and has performed with other music dept. faculty as part of a jazz combo, at least once - but in general downplays it.
