I posted the video of me playing last summer for the jam at Marc Savoy. I played "Les Flames d'Enfer" at the end of the song the gentleman to my right told me "I recorded that song with Austin Pitre in 1959." I could not believe that had such an opportunity,I just learned that song a couple of weeks before I went there. Here's the link.

My wife has often commented on how easy it is to visit with the local musicians, all of them. She's from Portland Oregon and the locals there think they are special at have no time for regular people. I have been fortunate to play with the people I have played with the last few years, I am just learning how to play so I am having a ball.

I know Robert well from the jams at Mitch Reeds place. We got to the jam early and when Robert came in he started setting up and looked over to and said "ok, Jerry let's see what you got." I had hoped to play a little but wasn't thinking about starting the jam and getting to play for the first hour. I figured Harry was a relative so I was looking for your post.

There's a great picture of him in Ann Savoy's book from when he was playing with Nathan and the Pine Grove Boys. It changed color, but he has exactly the same hair back then that he has today.
Bryan, what's the name of that album Harry put out?
Jude, I can't remember for sure but I think it's called Harry and the Cajuns. I'll check when I get home tomorrow. It's out of print and I don't think it ever was in cd, but I've seen it in Floyds on cassette. You might could ask Harry, he may have some copies.
"Harry and the cajuns" La Louisianne Records LL-146 (I have the LP)
And also "Aly Bain meet the cajuns" or "Cajun Country", LP and vidéo.
2 songs with Harry : "contredanse à pépère" and "la vie est pas donnée".
The name of the LP is "Harry and the Cajuns." It is on La Louisianne NR LL-146.
Harry has also released two CDs. Those titles are ""Kathleen's Crown of Roses" and "Tout Le Tour Du Grand Bois (All Around the Big Wood)." There is a bit of overlap on the two CDs - in fact a lot of overlap. Most, if not all, of the songs on the LP are on both CDs; but they are interesting.
Bryan is listed as playing bass on the Big Woods CD and as being the Assistant Engineer on the Kathleen CD.
If you are interested in getting one or both of the CDs, you can probably get them from Harry. As part of the liner notes for one of the CDs, Harry included his card with his phone number - 337-457-0662 (actually, the card says AC 318; but I believe 337 is the correct Area Code).
Thanks Jack I just called the number and left a message. I have two cd's of the jam that day and I finally learned how to make a clip of it. I'll see about posting some more video.
