Cajun Mazurka vids, anyone know any they can post?

I don't think I've ever heard a Cajun Mazurka that wasn't on a fiddle. Anyone know any on Accordion for youtube?

Re: Cajun Mazurka vids, anyone know any they can post?

Hi Jim, taped this one for someone before:

Quite similar to the Chez Seychelles hit, and i got the skeleton from a tune called Mazok. Marc mailed me this tune from a CD recorded there, and i messed with it a little. I ain't no purist, sorry, and the C weapon used is tuned a little different too alas .... - Nout

Re: Mazok

Until someone can find a Cajun one, you will perhaps enjoy listening to this one by Yann Dour (a Breton diatonic accordion player).

Nout - Ah, I remember that tune. Is that an Errol Verret original?

Marc- thanks, I'll check Gerald's out. Didn't know he had one up. I can see him being one to do this.

Christian- I like that Yann Dorr, thanks for sharing

Yann Dour playing a MARTIN 2 row....
Yann has been playing Martins for at least a decade, maybe more. The box sounds to be a G/C.

Check the link

He also co authored a Cajun Accordeon tutorial.. my copy is about 15 years old; book with cassette.

Check out the Cajun Ramblers videos and that very cool, big ol' jazz box for a guitar.. that is cool
to the max.

And of course ,to be certified Cajun, must wear plaid and a ball cap. !

Re: Cajun Mazurka vids, anyone know any they can post?

Yann Dour has also been playing Cajun music for a long time.

Young Yann and old Nathan in the picture below:

Photo right out of the book I have in front of me.
I believe Yann stopped wearing shoes after this photo, emulating his hero Nathan.

Note Nathan playing a 2 row Hohner
2 row..... Hohner ... Pokerwork no less

Gee famous player with a Hohner.. and a 2 row,
against tradition ... the shame of it all.
