Re: "New" Beau Jocque Video

Thanx Larry...Can't understand why it wouldn't be released at competitive DVD rates...surely the BJ estate would accept part proceeds ( given that other parties would probably 'gobble up' most of the money ).
Any clues?..and who is the company that's holding it back?...it's such high quality footage that it's a tragedy to have it stuck in a digital vault.

BTW..I found a copy of Kingdom of Zydeco so will do some reading under the index reference of Andres Espre..thanx.

Re: "New" Beau Jocque Video

Look closely at the mics and accordion from the various angles. He is, indeed, using an internal mic. The sound is a dead giveaway. What you see is a 1/4" jack mounted on plexiglass (before sealed jacks were available)and two wires that pass between the outer frames and bellow frames going to the internally mounted mics. Also, the mic you see on stage is actually to his side. There is another one further down the stage. They are intended to catch the scrubboard as he moves around.

The video is great. Very definitive of BJ's sound and what was to come.
