Am actually finally working on "Learn Cajun Accordion" DVD-2 !
Hello Braves,
I know it's been long in coming, but I'm actually rolling
some video for the "Learn Cajun Accordion" DVD Volume-2.
This project will be targeting more "just beginning"
level playing.
So far, I have been working on a version of
"Amede Two Step".
The demonstration starts with a completely "bare-bones"
version, then progresses in complexity through about
ten layers of embellishments.
Three cameras are used to show left, right, and long
shots of the accordion.
Hopefully it will illustrate what makes music sound
"Cajun" as well as provide a very simple starting
version and gradual progression that one can pick
up as they learn the "tricks".
The format is a three-disk set. Two DVD's
(estimated to each be 90 minutes in length) and an
audio CD with accompaniments at various speed to play
along with.
A booklet will be provided with text and tablature. I
haven't decided if I'll have enough time to write out
sheet music for this one or not.
I don't know how many "beginners" are left on this
Forum, but I thought I'd let all who may be interested
know

This "beginner" is interested. Amede Two Step is a tune I've struggled with for years. An audio CD with accompaniments to play along with sounds fantastic. Will it be out before Christmas? LOL

I like that Larry. I always find that I can learn an amazing amount of new material if I remember that this is a long journey and there is much to be learned. Some of the begginer stuff on fiddle gives me insight I hadn't thought about and I would miss it if I were stuck in the "I know everything" mode.

Sure
The first song that I'm decomposing is "Amede 2 Step".
And I need to figure out what other songs to demo!
I did want to do some continuation from DVD-1, and perhaps
chords, bellows techniques, but it is absolutely
amazing how little time there is on a couple DVD's!
I've already spent about 40 minutes on the bare-bones
and layers of Amede 2-step's A-Part only! (I won't
be able to fit much of anything else on the project
if I don't become more conservative with time )
Dirk must spend only about 20 minutes/song on his tapes.
