So here's my take on Bosco Stomp, most of it is from Marc Savoy's Volume 2.
So my question is more of the ending tags on the a and b parts that I hear on some versions of this song. I hope that I'm explaining that correctly. Like in a lot of folk and roots you don't have a
"neat" song there are extra bits that throw those looking for 8 measures off but stay on the beat.
I'm not entirely satisfied with my version and am just loooking for some suggestions.Does everybody have different tags at different points in the song.
I think most of my problem is that I don't know how to sing cajun and my band doesn't have the vocals yet either so we don't include most of those little extra tags.
Bosco Stomp is a good jam-buster. I think that everyone
turns it differently. (The last band that I played it
with would actually played it "square" .. and *I* couldn't
follow it!)
The important thing is to get your ryhthm section to
follow what you're doing
The riffs that you're picking off of Marcs dvd are
probably the some of the fanciest that you'll hear
in that tune!
Our Band plays it,and it's always a hit.We have a good singer, and I guess that makes a big difference.Lost Bayou Ramblers have a you tube,I think in D.We do it very close to their version, check it out.I'll try to post a video soon, and you can see my turns. You have some cool licks,Thanks for the video
