I have it by Joe Bonsal love this song. Jody the fiddle player used to play with Bob Wills. And when he retired he played at Mitch Reeds Saturday jam. We have a picture on our wall in our music room.

Happy Fats and Doc Guidry. If you make a waltz of it you have La Valse De Bayou Lafourche.
We play it all the time. I don't know how you guys recognize songs like that, I am just glad I can play them. Nice one Christain.

I asked my wife to listen to Faded Love and see if she could figure out what song it was changed into. So she started playing it at regular speed and I told her to speed up the tempo. She got it right away. I would have never gotten that. Cool

The Balfas don't sing exactly the same melody as Happy Fats (my favorite). I can't tell what notes they changed but their version is slightly different to my ears (sounds out of tune, in fact ) . I couldn't find Happy Fats' version on Internet but it is on this CD:
It's a kind of hocus-pocus and I couldn't believe it.
But there are parts in the songs that are similar.
It's not so obvious as in the Valse de Cherokee and the Midland Two Step.(for me)
