Article: Are you still out there?? I am a single mom of a 12 mo old in the Ft. Dodge area. I had Caleb at home, still nurse and have a family bed. Although I have been lucky in finding a MD who understands and supports my desire not to immunize I have difficulty finding other mothers who share the same ideals. Daycare has been my biggest struggle. Ideally I would like to be a SAHM and envy those of you who are blessed with this opportunity. Encouragement...I need lots!!

Article: YES! I do often feel like a freak! We moved to NE Iowa about 8 mos. ago. My kids are 2, 5, 10, and 13, and I am totally shocked by the people here, as I'm sure they are by me! (I mean no offense to anyone) I breastfed, for about a year - give or take - all my kids, our baby and sometimes our 5 yo sleep with us, and we homeschool. We live in a really small town, and although everyone is really nice, I know they look at me with more than a little suspicion, because I am "different". It gets pretty lonely sometimes... Anyway, I only have internet access at work, so I can't use it much (I only work a few hrs a week), but I would love to hear from anyone with at least some of the same views. My # is (319) 924-2738. Thanks for letting me vent!

Hello. i am a SAHM of 2--a 4 yr old and a 13 month old nursling. I live in a small town in central Iowa and often feel i am the only woman in the world who breastfeeds and (GASP) shares the bed with hubby, dogs, and KIDS. Anyone else out there feeling like a freak of nature?
