Hi!
I have visited this website several times, but this is my first message.
I was a crew member on the Coast Guard transport USS Admiral H. T.
Mayo from April, 1945 through April, 1946. While on shakedown, we
visited San Diego, where we also picked up additional crew members.
One of these was Victor Mature. We were shipmates from April until
September of that year. As far as I am concerned, Vic Mature was a good
sailor and a real gentleman. I am glad we sailed together for a little
while.
