The only house that i know of in Cambuslang,that i can think of which may fit this decription could be the large house at the top of Bushiehill
Street, close behind St Brides Church.This house was used as a short term,
reference place run by Glasgow and Lanarkshire councils for troubled, orphaned,and abandoned children in the forties and early fifties.My mother worked there during the late forties and early fifties and was always gladened to receive cards and letters from children who had been at the remand home.
It was abandoned in the mid fifties ,then lay derelict for years ,eventually it was demolished to make way for houses,Ihope this is of help,
