The only thing that really is Cussler's fault is the idea for this dismal series in the first place. It really doesn't matter who writes it. It is a pathetically bad series from start to finish. Why any fan of Cussler would support, let alone settle, for these stories and their inept characterizations goes beyond the pale. And I know I'm not alone in that opinion. Blackwood,no doubt, came to his senses and realized it was doing his career more harm then good continuing. Good call, Grant.
As for Cussler being difficult..well, that goes without saying. However, it makes you wonder why all these writers are abandoning the ship, as it were, or does it ? I wouldn't think so.
The only thing worse would be to get Sean Ellis to take over this terrible series. Let's hope Cussler has more sense then that.
