Special event Honoring VietNam Veterans, March 22, 2003

For Immediate Release

Harvey, LA – In order to honor the brave men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Give Hope, a nonprofit, humanitarian aid corporation, will be sponsoring the American Veterans Traveling Tribute from March 20 to 23, 2003. A four-fifth (4/5) scale replica of the VietNam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., the largest of it’s kind, is the center piece of the display, standing 8 feet high at the apex and spanning over 375 feet. This unforgettable exhibit will be located at White Dove Fellowship, 3600 Manhattan Blvd., in Harvey, Louisiana. It is our intent to help heal those who are suffering emotionally by remembering those who gave their lives or who were left behind, by giving honor to those who endured unimaginable hardship, and by saying to those who made it back… “Welcome Home!”

An official Veterans Appreciation Ceremony will commence at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, after the arrival of the “Welcome Home” parade featuring some 1,000 motorcyclists, many of who are veterans. We are please to announce that Major-General James E. Livingston, USMC (Ret.), a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, will serve as keynote speaker of the ceremony. Many other dignitaries are expected to attend, including Senators, Congressmen, Mayors, Councilmen, and business leaders as well as local media. Also, each evening of the event, starting on Thursday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m., a candle light vigil will be held.

We are inviting you to come show your support for our veterans, our military and our country at this free event.
