Mr. Gilbert, my condolences on the passing of your friend and museum volunteer. I'm sure you will enjoy the warm memories that this lady provided both to you and to your visitors, and take solace in the knowledge that what you have created helped to enrich her life and that of her family as well.

If I might just take a minute here, I'd like to reflect on the memory of Richie Schmier. He was one of the Friends of Edaville who came to help both South Carver Rail and later, Cranrail to reopen Edaville. He passed away in 1999 after helping rewire and rebuild the traction motors on diesel no. 2 and he also helped lay rail into the refurbished Edaville car shop, among other projects.
