I have to use my disc every time starting up and it goes through that code thing everytime and takes forever!!! Also I have not got to Ch 2 yet but I guess that there is a bug there also?

The game crashes very often after I discovered the letter from James to William, and now I can't load any saved game files from that point.

Hello Linda,
I've got a ch 2 prob, but I don't think its the same one I've read others having.
I can't get the "opening" in the belfry wall to accept the "strange object". Am I being a dummy and not doing something right? I've looked at the hot spots: Window, Grate, Madonna pic, Rope, Paintings/Charts, Entry to the Spiral Staircase. Is there a "fix" I should get or ?????? Thanks for your help!!! Kate

2. Are there any significant differences between 1st Edition and 2nd Edition, other than 2nd Edition is stated to run under Vista and 1st Edition will not?

I believe it's 1st Edition that we have recently purchased. It doesn't really say one way or the other on the packaging.

I have a rather wierd problem which I wonder if anyone else faced during initial gamepley.

When Samuel tries to open the second drawer in the bedroom , he is able to do so with the help of the drawer key. Later when he;s required to retrieve the camera he is unable to open the locked drawer again and is also unable to retrieve/find the key again. I havent reached that far out in the game, but i'd like to have the chapter 2 patch as well just incase i might need it.

Hi Linda , I bought this game for my daughter and it wouldn't work on her PC.I tried it on mine and it wouldn't run either(XP SP2).I even bought another copy to make sure the 1st one wasn't faulty!
I've been trawling the net for solutions and I've been pointed here.

Just like many others have described bought genuine copy of the Black mirror game but crashes on start up on my Core 2 duo windows XP + SP 2.

I haven't seen Linda around in a while (6-7 months so I don't know if she mails? these patches out anymore).

Anyway, if you can get a hold of the US version of Black Mirror you should be fine. It uses Starforce, though.

I have windows vista and I can't play the game cause of that......Everytime I try to play the game I keep getting an error saying that the game requires Windows XP, 2000, 98, 95 in order to run....

Is there a way I can play it using Vista? someone please help!!

Have you tried running the game in windows 95 or XP combability mode. You could also try running the game as as an admin, installing the game as an administrator or turn off UAC (user access control) completely.
