Re: beach boys/csny 1974

Ed, seriously, think about writing a book!

Re: beach boys/csny 1974

Ed's been talking about it for a decade (if not more). I feel it's never going to happen. Too bad for us! All those great photos of Dennis that we'll never see. sigh. TS

Ouch! Touche'

However, I'm not the only one who has waited 35 years to see Billy's film,
and as you can see from above, you can order it now.

Kind of lends credence to the phrase,
"All things come to he who waits!"

According to Ian Rusten's research (posted on AGD's Bellagio site), the Ontatio show scheduled for August 3rd was cancelled. Here's the list of all KNOWN shows The Boys played with CSNY (and Jesse Colin Young) that summer:

July 9 - Seattle Coliseum, Seattle WA
July 19 - Royals Stadium, Kansas City MO
July 21 - County Stadium, Milwaukee WI
July 22 - Civic Center, St. Paul MN
July 25 - Mile High Stadium, Denver CO
July 27 - Oklahoma Jam, All Sport Stadium, Oklahoma City OK* [w/Leon Russell, Elvin Bishop and Trapeze]
July 28 - Jeppesen Stadium, Houston TX
July 31 - Texas Stadium, Dallas TX
August 3 - Summer Jam West, Ontario Motor Speedway, Ontario CA [w/Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Band, Joe Walsh & Barnstorm and Jesse Colin Young - cancelled]
September 8 - Roosevelt Raceway, Westbury NY [w/Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (headliners), Joni Mitchell and Jesse Colin Young]

Re: beach boys/csny 1974

You are right..I have the large handbill promoting the show with the Joni Mitchell artwork, which is one of the reasons I saved it. Thanks for the info.

Wow, gotta love these sites! That explains so much, except for the "Texas Tour '74" shirts I mentioned... Ya know what? Bet I got one from the CSNY camp;( Joel Berstein, I bet!); doesn't look like we were in Texas long at all! Maybe CSNY spent a lot longer there than we did...
I edited the above dates to the shows I remember attending with them. However, what is the meaning of the asterik at the Oklahoma Jam? Did CSNY headline that one, too? I thought Leon did, as this whole affair was tied in with his annual B-B-Que. (Now if I could just remember where Dennis & I went on the 26th??? I do vividly remember a very bizzare scene from Oklahoma - a true Dennis classic!)

Ed, the asterik just means the date in question wasn't listed in Keith Badman's book, or it was listed there with an incorrect date. Ian provided the missing and/or corrected dates to Andrew. I removed one such asterik when I pasted the info in, but forgot to remove another.

So...you gonna tell us that very bizzare true Dennis classic??
