Dog handling school questions.

Hello! Im in the Army as an infantryman.Im in a heavy weapons company. My 1st Sgt said I was put in for dog handling school and I will be his dog handler. Do you guys know what the school consist of? Will the dog be with me at all times before deployment this Xmas?
