German Shepherd Tex 529M Phu Cat AFB Vietnam 1968

I believe my late husband Kevin Pendergast was the first of 3 known handlers for Tex from 1968-1973 approx. Looking to get the dog's service records and hopefully a picture if they were included in the records. I would like to confirm that this is his dog, since this is the only "Tex" that comes up in internet searches for the base so far. Appreciate the help in steering me in the right direction. He always worried about what happened to the dog after the war. I am not optimistic about his fate, but still would like to know.

Re: German Shepherd Tex 529M Phu Cat AFB Vietnam 1968

Mary,

We have found records indicating at least (2) dogs that served in Vietnam by the name of "Tex" preston brand numbers 529M, and 5A78.

Their complete records are available at Lackland Airforce Base.

Please contact Bill Cummings at usafbrutus@comcast.net for information on how to access these records.
