I am seeking records from the following two agencies for war dogs procured and trained during WW II: 1) Dogs for Defense, Inc. (non profit headquartered in New York City) and 2) Quartermaster General War Dog Reception and Training Centers at Front Royal, Virginia and Fort Robinson, Nebraska. Although there is plenty of information about these programs, I am seeking the individual dog records with the goal of analyzing these data for a book-related project. Although the National Archives has the war dog service books for the Marine Corps, I have been unable to locate the Quartermaster General (Army) or Dogs for Defense records. Please advise.
