Working dog handlers/dog trainers in civilian life

I would like to talk to or email with former dog handlers that made the move into training after their military careers. I was an Army MP dog handler stationed at Ft. Ord CA. worked total of 5 dogs, an old bio shepard, 2 questionable shepards, 1 at school that liked to challange authority and 1 that was just kick ass. In civilian life I trained 5 police working dogs and have trained over 1000 dog for obedience for clients. Took what I learned at Lackland and just kept on going. Look forward to talking to you.

Re: Working dog handlers/dog trainers in civilian life

Hi,

I am looking for someone to help me. I would like to find a well trained dog. Or should I say train me.

Not only would I like to have mine better disciplined
but I am also looking for a dog for my elerly parents. Sothing that will be as great companion for them and not be a hand full. Of course my problem is I don't have a whole lot of money. Are there retired trained dogs that are available for addoption.

Thanks for you help
