My uncle, who died several years ago, according to our family history, was a Marine attached to the 4th Marine Regiment with both the 3rd and 6th Marine Divisions. He fought at Bouganville, Guam and Okinawa. Also I just learned recently he handled a dog as part of his duties named "Zero". This part about the dog is surprising because he never mentioned it to me. If the story of his duties with "Zero" are correct with his war record it sounds to me like he was assigned to the The 1st War Dog Platoon according to what I've read.
His name was Bernard C. Jordan, from Mobile Alabama. Can anyone help me?
