My Dad was a trainer during Vietnam. I've found alot on "handlers", but not so much on the people that trained the dogs. He was bit 7 times by a dog while showing an FNG how to muzzle a dog (the new guy let the dog go...).

He said he had a dog named Duke (there must be dozens) and unfortunately wasn't very friendly to other handlers so they put him down. Also, I found his FM 20-20 Military Dog Training and Equipment book with the name WOLF E-771 on it if anyone remembers that dog...
