During a recent warehouse clean up at Camp Lejune
someone open a box marked to be thrown away, and dicovered all the USMC War Dog records from WWII.
Several boxes were then opened, and the historical importance of the records was quickly evident.
All the records were then transferred to the "National Archives" in Washington, DC.
So you must access "The National Archives" to get the anser to your question, but the answer is there for sure.
I understand that there may be a fee (charge) for their services researching the answer to your question, I do not have information about what the cost will be, but go for it and good luck.
Please share the answer with the rest of us when you get it.
About all the information I have is the names of the USMC War Dogs killed on Guam, and Iwo Jima, and the information in Captain Putney's book "Alway Faithful".

Another letter I found from the government regarding Tippy, asked my grandfather if he wanted Tippy returned or the government would terminate him. An aunt told me that the handler of the dog asked my grandfather if he could keep Tippy, and my grandfather said yes. But I will check with the archives as well.
