My mother, Elizabeth Jane Davies (known as Jean) was evacuated to Rhandirmwyn with her younger brother Dennis from Swansea just after the 3 night blitz. My mother stayed with Annie Davies and her grandfather, the village blacksmith in Bryn Bach cottage. Dennis (known as Denny) stayed at Nantyglo farm with the Davies family. My mother was 10 and Denny was 7.

I am researching family in Rhandirmwyn and I have some questions about how you would search for someone from a specific house in this area? I have been on Findmypast.com and find some are listed in Llandovery, or just Carmarthenshire and some I do not find at all. I have family from Rhandirmwyn and Cilycum. Is there a rule whereby one can figure out which jurisdiction will have the records? Are there any records recording who is buried in the various cemeteries in and around this area? Thank you!

Iam trying to find any information about my Great Great Grandfather David Vincent Lewis and his family who was the Headmaster at Rhandirmwyn School,we think that he came to Rhandirmwyn around 1903/04 with his wife Ada Home and thieir children Gwenth,Gwladys and Vincent, they then had Richard and Ivor who were both born in the village.we also understand David went on to become the Headmaster at Cilycwm School around 1920.
Kind Regards
Amanda
