I have a Martin D accordion with noisy flappers. I think that softer felt on the inside of the flappers might quiet things down. Is this a DYI job, and if so, any advice appreciated.
Up here in Vermont the air is dry dry dry and we try to humidify our homes but never to summer levels...would you put a humidity adder in your accordion case?...I have them in my stringed instruments but wondered about the reeds...thanks

We had the mistake of the Union and my wife was tuning her fiddle and when she realized that I was in the room she apologized for playing. I told her no big deal I only needed every 4th word because I can read faster than he could.

Saw this Bb on ebay (see link #1). It says "Dedicated to Eddie LeJeune" on the front.
And for those who don't know Eddie was an amazing accordion player, vocalist and son of Iry LeJeune.
I wonder if anyone has ever tried to make their reed blocks out of rosewood, or any kind of tone wood that is commonly used for stringed instruments. I have always been curious as to how much the reed blocks play a role in the over all sound of the accordion.
