I don't know what key they used. I remember trying to play along to them in the past with my C, and I don't remember problems, but along the way I also developed a small ability to transpose in my head. Mostly by listening to finger positions, not the tone, I guess.
Ok so maybe I was trying to play in it a different key. I'll try it to find it in G and if it isn't there then I'll try it in C.

I think it's in first position (C), but I see what you mean, the recording may be a little off key. I notice that a lot of old recordings are like that when the original recording was on a record. You don't notice till you try to follow it.

Elton Doucet once told me that when they make vinyl records it alters the sound so that it isn't possible to play with a lot of them. You helped me to remember this. Thanks. That doesn't stop me from trying however.
