Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

I really appreciate your effort keeping this going. It has been a big help to me getting started and the threads are a great reference. If you go, I will follow.

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

Hey Big Nick, does this mean that if Jerry were to follow those instructions you listed, that he could ban my IP addresses so I could never be heard from again? Wow, that is some powerful stuff right there!

Nah, I know it would take either a hacker or a webmaster to do that. Well anyways, thanks for not banning my comments all this time. You for one must have seen some value in my "humble" attempts to move and shake the community.

Well if you decide to switch to something other than bravenet, will all of this material be carried over? Sure would hate to lose the archive. Both the good and the bad. Just make sure to stick some instructions on this forum before you make the switch on how to get to the new place or no one will be able to show up to the partay.

Or maybe it will be just as simple as typing into Google "Cajun Accordion Discussion Group" and we'll all be wisked off to the new location??

And Big Nick, Thanks man.

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

I've been watching the response to your question about ending the forum. Evidently, few seem concerned about it ending. I think the damage to the accordion discussion group has already been accomplished by the ads. Changing the venue could help, or you could be more serious about deleting the ads as they are posted, or someone who values the site could volunteer to do it for all of us.

I don't want the discussions to end, but I also don't want to continue being associated with the disgusting drugs ads.

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

The ads are a nuisance, but in my mind, it's not the ads that killed this forum from what it was a few years go, it's the constant childish bickering and mudslinging.

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

agreed... somehow the site went from a great learning tool to some weird and odd social site.

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

Yo Nick, no one blames you, brother. The fecking Interweb aint as fun as it used to be, because it likes to arse-F itself..

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

AMEN! what Jim said...

Re: Time to move out of Bravenet?

I agree.. The childish banter back and forth from folks that think they are funny bickering their way thru life has really got STALE !! Disgusting actions from these so called adults that carry on worse that a 4th grader .. Absolutely disgusting.

Nick we have been wading thru the crap now for a few years. All the content of this forum is still available and I for one have found it more than a help .. Been a huge help that's for sure and thankyou Nick for dealing with the crap..

I hate to see this go.. If it did go no point if the contents of this are not transferable in tact..

I have not been here too long but I just hate to see it die. Even the children on here would not want that although they sure try hard to screw things up for others. They are in the minority so that's a good thing

I for one will just plow my way thru the CRAP and the DRUGS and the VIAGRA ;-) and continue on till I find the Good Stuff and there is a lot of Good Stuff on this forum

Thanks to all that have made this such a great place.
