Re: Les Mardi Gras c'est pas des malfecteurs, c'est juste des chamondeurs!

Bryan, it very well could be Cedric Watson. I've searched thorough all of his songs I could find online, and haven't found this by him either. Someone out there must know who recorded this song.

Re: Les Mardi Gras c'est pas des malfecteurs, c'est juste des chamondeurs!

hey, D-Wag I tend to agree with Bryan on this one, it surely
sounds like a younger Cedric Watson to me too. maybe a "bootleg" recording? or maybe some recorded music for a film that was "dropped" on the editors floor?

Re: Les Mardi Gras c'est pas des malfecteurs, c'est juste des chamondeurs!

It's Horace Trahan. Years ago, I remember when Todd Ortego first played this recording on KBON's "Swamp and Roll Show." As I recall, he said that Geno Delafose was on drums. You can hear Christine Balfa shouting "Hey Mardi Gras!" at the end. As far as I know, the recording was never included on a CD.

Re: Les Mardi Gras c'est pas des malfecteurs, c'est juste des chamondeurs!

Thanks David! Yeah, I was about 95% sure it was Horace Trahan singing.

I have a pretty decent Mp3 library of Louisiana music. About two years ago, I took on the task of organizing it by genre, artist, and album, all with correct album art on the files. I have 4,019 Cajun songs, 1,501 Swamp Pop songs, 1,165 Zydeco songs, 867 "ZydeCajun" songs, 135 Creole songs, 63 Louisiana Christmas songs, and even some comedy tracks from Justin Wilson, Nonc Helaire, The Cajun Repoter, etc. It was no easy feat (took me every bit of those two years to finish). This is the only song I have that I couldn't find anything on.
