I may be incorrect but I think that plate is engraved with words to the effect "In Memory of Cowboy". I have a close up picture of it in a book at home that has a picture of Felix Richard on the cover. I will check on it when I get a chance and confirm this. It looks like the same old box that is in that picture. Anyway, to all those who don't like Mr. Wayne's playing I say Ha! When he wants to play straight up hard core cajun there are few if any better. And nobody plays Zydecajun better than him IMHO. He's just a monster player and singer and entertainer.
The accordion that Wayne is playing in that clip is his 1976 Mouton, which was transformed into the Buzzard accordion. To answer the Joey's question, yes he is.
kinda like.. failed the pee test... he's in the Breaux Bridge pen and should be out in June. If he does this again it'll be 5 years hard time. Pray for Wayne. He's a pioneer in the music we all love. Too bad the rules of life aren't the way they were back in the days of our other pioneers...
Yup, Wayne failed his test for the second time. His guitar player Chevy has been filling in for my band lately and gave me the scoop.
Oh, and speaking of Felix Richard. I just found out that one of the girls I work with is Felix's grandaughter. She heard me playing fiddle one day and mentioned that her grandpa was a "pretty good" accordion player. No kidding
