I was a Specialized Search Dog handler in the Army and trained my partner, a yellow lab Diego, as a pup then deployed to OIF with him. I left the service after 11years in '07 and just learned the Diego was diagnosed with PTSD after I left. My unit never informed me, as I thought was SOP, and sent Diego to Lackland AFB for retraining. Lackland then sent him to TSA.
Unfortunately this is the only information I have been able to attain. I was with Diego the two times we were hit by road sides bombs but our bond was strong enough that I could get him happy and back to working. I two have PTSD and can think of no better rehabilitation for the both of us then to be reunited.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
