The SSD K9 Unit received a generous donation from an anonymous citizen who
specifically wanted the donation used to buy bullet proof vests for our
dogs. We were able to outfit 9 of our 13 dogs. We are now raising money to
outfit the remaining 4 K9 teams. K9 Storm of Canada is supplying the vests
which are top of the line and the best in the industry, but expensive. The
others are cumbersome, bulky, and not worth the money so we went with the
better vest that costs about $1,600 each.

KCRA 3 did a story on the vest program and we received just over 900.00
towards the purchase of the 4 vests left to outfit the rest of the detail.
The donations have slowed so we are seeking the publics help. Please forward
this e-mail to whoever may be interested in this program and helping us
purchase vests for the remaining dogs. Any donation amount will be accepted.
